Somatic Experiencing

Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a body-oriented therapy that attends to, and includes the body in the treatment of trauma and other states of overwhelm.

SE understands that trauma is a natural and normal part of life, not a mistake, a disease or an aberration. SE helps to create the conditions for your system to come back into balance and rhythm, and move towards integration and wholeness.

SE focuses on your nervous system and aids you in discharging energy that may be stuck in your system due to your lived experiences of stress and/or trauma. SE not only can support symptom reduction and lessen overall distress; it can help you feel like yourself again and connect to your sense of purpose and aliveness.

SE is not one size fits all; it is an exploration that supports your healing journey.
